This book is a hand engraver's bible - it's the Fairbairn's Book of Crests Vol II (used in conjunction with Vol I) - it shows the Crests for many many families of Great Britain and Ireland - an invaluable asset to own and absolutely fascinating to just browse through.

Many couples wish to have matching wedding bands and hand engraving is a great way to personalise your rings.  We've had lots of clients wishing to include their spirit animals and as long as you're opting for fairly wide bands this is absolutely not a problem!  We advise a minimum width of 7mm for this style of work.  Rings are available from London Engraver in Sterling Silver, 9ct & 18ct yellow/white/rose gold and platinum.

If you follow London Engraver on Facebook you'll have seen our recent post featuring these two signet rings.  Matching intricate scrollwork with Father's and Son's initials featured on each shoulder inside a cartouche.

The mighty lion is considered to be King of Beasts.  It is also a common figure in heraldry, known for representing STRENGTH, POWER, NOBILITY and ROYALTY.

Ray was lucky enough to see the America's Cup trophy in person whilst he was on work experience at Garrard & Co back in 1995.  Garrard & Co craftsman manufactured the cup back in 1848 and it is now the oldest international sporting trophy.  

Since the below photo was taken the trophy has grown in size quite significantly with a whole new silver plinth being added to the bottom to allow enough room for more champions to have their name engraved on it.

​The Cup was badly damaged in an attack in 1997 in New Zealand (click here for more information) and had to be shipped back to the UK for Garrard & Co to carry out the extensive restorations.  It took the silversmiths 3 months and the Cup was then flown back to New Zealand in a first class seat of it's own!
